A Pilgrimage of Promise through Jordan & the Holy Land is a deeply Catholic pilgrimage rooted in scripture, tradition, and the sacramental life of the Church. Beginning in Jordan, pilgrims follow the path of the Exodus along the ancient King’s Highway, stand on Mount Nebo where Moses beheld the Promised Land, and reflect on God’s covenantal faithfulness revealed in the Old Testament. In Madaba, the oldest map of the Holy Land bears witness to early Christian devotion, while at the Jordan River, pilgrims renew their baptismal promises at the very place where Christ sanctified the waters through His Baptism. At Qumran, the preservation of Sacred Scripture invites reflection on God’s Word handed down through the centuries and safeguarded by His people.
Crossing into the Holy Land, the pilgrimage enters the heart of the Catholic faith. In Bethlehem, pilgrims kneel at the birthplace of Our Lord within the Church of the Nativity. In Jerusalem, the Paschal Mystery unfolds as we pray the Stations of the Cross along the Via Dolorosa, celebrate the Holy Mass near Calvary and the Empty Tomb, and pray in Gethsemane, the Upper Room, and at Mount Zion, where the Eucharist and the priesthood were instituted. In Galilee, pilgrims renew marriage vows in Cana, worship at the Annunciation in Nazareth, sail the Sea of Galilee, and stand where Christ proclaimed the Beatitudes and entrusted His Church to St. Peter. Rooted in prayer, sacrament, and communion with the universal Church, this pilgrimage forms disciples—returning home not as tourists, but as Catholics renewed in faith and sent forth to live the Gospel.
